Members Only Fish Outs

Fish outs are a core part of the Castaways experience. These outings are designed to help members explore diverse local waters from lakes and rivers to ocean beaches—that they might not discover on their own.

Whether you are chasing Rainbow Trout in the spring or Pink Salmon in the fall, these events are the perfect opportunity to improve your angling skills and enjoy a day on the water with fellow club members.

Where We Fish: Local lakes, rivers, and beaches across Vancouver Island.
Notices: Fish Out notification is done by email.
Coordinators: Garry Fisher.
Updates: Check us out on Facebook to see who is out fishing!

Courses and Workshops

Whether you are picking up a rod for the first time or look to refine your technique, our comprehensive education program helps you advance as an angler. Our core programs are:

Annual Intro Course: A two-day, two-evening course in May covering casting, ecology, knot tying, and safety. Club rods are provided for students.

Casting Clinics: We offer single-hand and two-hand (Spey) casting clinics to help you master loop formation, distance, and accuracy.

Fly Tying: Seasonal classes for beginner tyers, providing the tools and materials needed to craft your own patterns.
